Lorenzo Dari (2000) is a contemporary percussionist and composer. He accomplished his Master’s degree in Percussion at the Conservatorio G.B. Martini in Bologna in 2024 with prof. Nunzio Dicorato. He is finalising his Master’s degree in Composition at the Conservatorio di Musica F. Venezze in Rovigo with Paolo Aralla, studying for one year also with Fabien Lévy at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig.
His music has been performed by ensembles and soloists of international caliber, such as MDR-Sinfonieorchester, PULSO Ensemble, Quartetto Prometeo, Anna D’Errico, Francesco Dillon and Manuel Zurria. In November 2025 FontanaMIX Ensemble, Istantanea Ensemble and Icarus Ensemble will premiere his new work for Chamber Ensemble in Bologna, Ferrara and Reggio Emilia. His composition Quasi un notturno for symphony orchestra was broadcasted by MDR Klassik Radio.
His album KLANG-ORE, containing new works for solo vibraphone that he commissioned to young emerging composers, came out in December 2024 through Dash_music and is available on all streaming platforms.
In September 2025 he was composer in residence for Inštitut .abeceda’s program Re_humanizacija, premiering a new work for string quartet.
He has been selected to participate in prestigious festivals and masterclasses, such as Accademia Chigiana (2023), Mixtur (2025), Nuova Consonanza’s “De Musica” (2023), mdi ensemble’s “Sound of Wander” (2023), KlexosLab (2025) and Collettivo_21’s Casa della Musica San Michele (2024, 2025).
In these occasions he has worked with renowned composers, such as Salvatore Sciarrino, Ondřej Adámek, Lisa Streich, Francesco Filidei, Mauro Lanza, Franck Bedrossian and Jessie Marino.
In 2022 he won the composition prize “Ragazze e ragazzi. Salvemini 1990” for his piece HAMMER - Fragment. Then in 2024 he was finalist at the Flute New Music Consortium Composition Competition in the “Flute and Electronics” category with his piece La Biblioteca di Babele II.
